It comes from the verb 推す, meaning “to stan”. It used to be a jargon term among idol fans, but now it’s often used among young people to describe an idol member or anime character whom they stan. Sometimes, it is also used to describe things you really like, such as your favourite restaurants.
It is called 推し活(かつ) to stan one’s 推し by doing something like going to a live event, collecting his/her goods, etc.
