Literal Meaning
true dream
Meaning
a dream one has (during sleep) that comes true later
Additional Info
正夢 differs from デジャブ (déjà vu) in that you see 正夢 first and it comes true later, while デジャブ is more like having the sensation that you have seen this somewhere before.
It is also used when you (don’t) hope that a dream you have will come true/happen in real life, as in the example below.
Example
昨日の夜、財布(さいふ)をなくす夢を見た。正夢にならないといいけど。
Last night, I had a dream of losing my wallet. I hope it won’t happen in real life.
