ガン萎えする describes stronger feelings than 萎える. In a casual text (e.g. tweets on Twitter), 萎え or ガン萎え are used at the end of a sentence to show one’s negative feelings, e.g. 風邪ひいたっぽい、萎え (“Probably I’ve got a cold. Sh*t”).
