Additional Info

It’s short for 知ったかぶり (“pretending to know”). It’s usually used as 知ったかする, “to pretend to know something”.

Example

知ったかして「うん、あの映画いいよね」と言ったら、どのシーンが好きか聞かれて困(こま)った
I said “Yeah, that movie is great”, pretending to know it very well, and I got in trouble when asked which scene is my favourite.
